Analog isn't dead, it is on life support in the Smithsonian. Video is now fully digital. Since Zach sleeps / eats / breathes video, digital should be his middle name. But a guy with four names didn't need a fifth, he needed a catchy abbreviation the rhymed.
The transition to HDTV took over three decades of development, debates, delays & missed deadlines. Years before analog powered down, 1080p TV sets went on sale, all but shaming HD broadcasters bragging rights about their 720p and 1080i formats. Is it any wonder that technology advances faster than FCC standards?
While it is impossible to stay one step ahead of new technology, you can only be left behind if you work with the inexperienced. Zach knows HD and knows that HD doesn't come alive through ATSC specifications. HD lives in the hands of the people who create it.
